$3.00

When working with special education students you can expect to have an annual meeting. If you are working with older students you can ask them to complete a survey to obtain feedback on how they think they are doing in school. This has become the best resource to help include student voice throughout the individualized education plan.

When working with special education students you can expect to have an annual meeting. If you are working with older students it is important to include student voice throughout the IEP. This resource is the perfect way to incorporate feedback from the student.

Before an IEP meeting, we ask our students to fill out the ‘Speech and Language Student Interview’. Students fill in a checklist about their receptive language, expressive language, pragmatic language, and academics. Short response questions allow the students to elaborate on their strengths and weaknesses in the areas of writing, spoken language, overall comprehension, social communication, etc. This provides us with valuable information to incorporate within an IEP write up. We often share some of the responses at the meetings when we have students who become nervous to speak in front of adults. Our students have said they like completing the questionnaire because they have time to think about their answers as opposed to being asked to provide an answer during a conversation.

This is a printable resource, that includes two different versions of the survey for students, which makes it easy to distribute to your students.
